Answers

Does a caller need to be informed that they are being recorded?

In some cases, yes. Each state has the authority to create its own laws governing telephone recording consent.

If you are recording in a state with “Two Party Notification”, OnviCord can be configured to play an audible beep tone during a call that notifies others that they're being recorded. Beep tone options vary based on your telephony environment. If your state laws require notification at the beginning of a call, your switch or voicemail system may be configured to provide such a message.

In any case, research recording law or have an attorney advise you on how you should record within the laws of your state.
