A Purpose-Driven Partnership
OnviSource and the OnviSource Equipment Owners (OEO) Association have developed a partnership with benefits for all!

We are excited about our contributions to the new OEO Association, ranging from discounts and special prices to special customer-focused programs.

OEO membership has many benefits including direct access to other users of the OnviCenter suite of products, direct access to the OEO Technical Committee, online technical support, invitation to periodic meetings that include hands-on training and software usage.

If you would like to join us for the OEO Association annual meeting in Orlando this February 4th-5th, apply for membership today!
Contact Dan L'Heureux.

OEO Technical Committee
OEO Association has formed a Technical Committee. This committee works directly with the OnviSource Product Team to identify and prioritize new features and evaluate new software.

A survey of the OEO membership conducted in 2008 by association member Steve Melhorn helped to prioritize interest in new product features. Steve presented his findings to the OEO Technical Committee and as a result OnviSource committed to develop nine of the top requests. These features are included in the OnviCenter 6.1.3 software release.

Currently, Steve is preparing the next product feature survey and will soon present these features for OEO member prioritization. The OEO Technical Committee has also been directly involved in the rollout of OnviCenter 6.1.2. Regular interaction with the OEO Technical Committee resulted in improved stability and performance of this release.

User Tip: OnviCall Switch Server
Application Module: Switch Server Release 6.X

Issue: The system is not receiving or able to make calls.

Diagnostics: Check the light on the Pika Power supply and make sure that it is green. If the light is out, replace the power supply.

Check the alarms and see if there are any T1 or PRI errors.

LOS, FAS or SYNC alarms are indications of problems with the signals being received from the telco carrier. Contact your telco carrier for assistance.

Resolution:
There were lightning storms in the area and the customer was experiencing LOS alarms. Contacted the Telco and they reset the interface and the problem went away.

Note: It is highly recommended to always keep a spare Pika power supply on hand since an outage will result in no calls being processed by the system.

User Tip: OnviCall Data Server
Module: Data Server Release 6.1.1

Issue: The system slows down at 3:00 a.m. and operators see SQL hour glass.

Diagnostics: Check to see if OnviCenter is doing any backups or archiving at 3:00 a.m. If so, check to see if there are resources available in the system. Are they running short on disk space? If less than 15% of the disk space is available, remove archive files until at least 25% of the disk space is available.

Check to see if any reports were being run against the primary data server. If so, reconfigure the system to point to the replication server for reports if there is a replication server in the system.

Check and see if any third party applications are running that may be doing backups or reports. This includes MS SQL server from AccuCall if it is still installed.

If MS SQL server is installed, then either de-install it or stop the service. Set MS SQL to be disabled.

Resolution: This customer had an external application set to do system backups at 3:00 am. We removed the application and reminded the customer that third party applications cannot be run on the OnviCenter servers. This is in violation of the terms of the service agreement. The customer moved the backup application to the replication server in their office.
