Module: Recording Server Release: 6.1.1
Issue:The recording server does not show up
in OnviCord Web.
Diagnostics:Check the recording server and make sure that the service is running. If the recording service is stopped then restart it.
Check the alarms and look for recording server disconnect alarms. If there are network disconnect alarms then check the data path to the recording server. Make sure that the firewall on the recording server is disabled so that the data server can communicate with it. Make sure that the recording server has access to the network.
Resolution:The customer had turned on the firewalls and the data server could not access the recording server. The recording server was recording. When the firewall was opened up for the data server then the recording sever in OnviCord Web could be seen.

OnviSource Joins Avaya DevConnect Program

OnviSource recently gained membership into the Avaya DevConnect program. Avaya's DevConnect program promotes development, compliance-testing and co-marketing of innovative third-party products like OnviCenter 6 that are compatible with standards-based Avaya solutions.
Through the DevConnect program, Avaya provides a number of tools and capabilities to member companies. One example is Application Enablement Services (AES) - a set of application programming interfaces, protocols and Web services that makes it easier for developers to create Avaya-compatible networks, devices and applications.
Building on Avaya's established and enterprise-wide voice and data infrastructure, OnviSource is capable of offering workforce optimization applications that can be seamlessly deployed, while reducing integration time and costs, improving network security and reliability and preserving our customer's prior investments.

End-of-Life for DigiVoiceXE 1 & 2 Systems |

 Last spring, OnviSource posted a timeline on its website of hardware and software products that would reach end of life this year. We are providing advanced notice so you can prepare for upgrade to the latest version and secure ongoing support. Please note that replacement boards for these systems are no longer available from the manufacturer.
DigiVoiceXE 1
OnviSource ceased renewal of software support agreements for DigiVoiceXE 1 on August 31st, 2008. All technical support for DigiVoiceXE 1 systems will end on August 31st, 2009.
DigiVoiceXE 2
OnviSource ceased renewal of software support agreements of DigiVoiceXE 2 call recording systems on December 31st, 2008. All technical support for DigiVoiceXE 2 systems will end on December 31st, 2009.

In many enterprise and call center networks, IT administrators use MicroSoft Active Directory to control user access to the network (i.e. user names and passwords).
OnviCord now integrates with LDAP so that IT administrators can use their MS user names and passwords to control access into OnviCord Web, Agent and Monitor. This means that IT administrators no longer need to maintain OnviCord user names and passwords if they configure OnviCord to use the LDAP option.
In the OnviCord LDAP option, OnViews, OnviCord Web, Monitor and OnviCord Agent users must first login to Windows. Their access to run these applications is then automatically authenticated by MS Active Directory.
When new users are added to Windows, they are assigned no privileges in OnviCord Web and OnviCord. OnviCord administrators can query Active Directory for new users and then set the privileges for each new user.
OnviCord LDAP integration is available as an optional module beginning with software version 6.1.2.
